3nd Annual PERFORMANCE OF THE "SWING BAND" AT OLG!

The Swing Band, an ensemble of the New Horizons Band of Indiana, will be playing from NOON-1:15 PM, Wednesday, October 21st in Madonna Hall.  All OLG parishioners are invited to attend and enjoy the Big Band sound--think Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman and the like.  Put your dancing shoes on and enjoy the music!

The New Horizons Band was formed 30 years ago and is comprised of talented adult senior musicians, many returning to active music making later in life. They also have a Concert Band.

Sponsored by the Keenagers, the concert is free and open to all; there will be a freewill offering collected.  Desserts will be provided!  For more information, contact Linda at 317-847-3491.

• Guest Speaker:  Fr. Tim Wyciskalla, Pastor, St. John the Evangelist, Vicar for Clergy, Religious, and PLCs, Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
• Cost:  $40.00 per person (Must be 21 to attend)
• *Ticket price includes an appetizer, catered dinner, wine, beverages, dessert, and a chance to win a wonderful door prize!

• If you are a table hostess, you are responsible for decorating your table. You will have the opportunity to purchase your entire table (8 seats) prior to the general ticket sales.  Any open (unpaid) seats remaining at the hostess’ table will be sold in general ticket sales beginning October 29th.
• To register as a hostess and purchase your table, please contact Susie Gallagher 317-908-9880 beginning October 22nd at 8:00am.  Ticket sales will be filled in the order the call is received.  This year’s event will be limited to 25 tables with 8 guests per table.

Olive wood carvings and crafts from Christian artists in the Holy Land will be offered for sale after each Mass on the weekend of November 14-15. 

Sales of olive wood carvings support Christian families in the Bethlehem area who rely on this and pilgrims as primary sources of income. Due to the recent events in Holy Land, all tourism activities have been impacted. Which devastated the livelihoods of those families. 

Christians make less than 1.5% of the population in the Holy Land. Your support and solidarity keep these native Christians rooted in their homeland.

Find comfort for the season with GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays which offers support & practical tips for facing holiday challenges after loss.

A GriefShare Surviving the Holidays seminar, held Thursday November 19th at Our Lady of the Greenwood from 6:30pm-8:30pm in Madonna Hall, offers practical, actionable strategies for making it through the holiday season. At this two-hour seminar, you’ll view a video featuring advice from people in grief who’ve faced the holidays after their loss. You’ll hear insights from respected Christian counselors, pastors, and psychologists. You’ll receive a Holiday Survival Guide with practical strategies, encouraging words, helpful exercises, Q/As, and journaling ideas for daily survival through the holiday season. At GriefShare Surviving the Holidays, you’ll meet with other grieving people who have an understanding of what you’re going through. They won’t judge you or force you to share, but will accept you where you are and will offer comfort and support. “When I went to GriefShare,” said Marion, “I realized there are different ways to grieve.”Your holiday season won’t be easy; your emotions may ambush you and suck you under at times. But you can choose to walk through this season in a way that honors your loved one and puts you on the path of health and healing.
